Question about adding "SAP AG" to Trusted Publishers

Former Member

Under Tools -> Macro - > Security I have it set to low. The "Trusted Publishers" tab has a check in both boxes at the bottom. There is no entry for "SAP AG" so do I need to add it, is this a requirement? If so, how because all the buttons are gray out. Maybe I have to obtain a SAP certificate first. If so, how?

Thanks for your input.

Thao,

If it's not in the list - once you run the Analyser you will be asked to Enable macros. There is a little check box above that 'Always Trust Macros from this Publisher;. If you say yes there it will add SAP AG to your trusted list. You also wont be prompted with the Enable Macros option again.

If the button is greyed out - which Patch level are you on? I think Patch 12 offers the option to tick it.

Gillian and Bob,

Thank you both for replying back to my question. Gillian, your reply corrected my problem. Again, I really appreciate your time/input.

Thao - There is no requirement to have SAP AG as a Trusted Publisher. My setting is "Medium" for macros, and I have never had to set this. You would only need to download the certificate if you want to login to the SAP customer site, SDN, etc. in a semi-automatic fashion. If you want to do this, go to: Applying for an SAP Passport

BTW, Gill - We are on SP 12, and I do not see the checkbox you are referring to.

Hope this helps...

Bob,

The check box is there on the Enable / Disable macros dialogue box, just above the selection to pick Enable or Disable - it's greyed out on earlier versions of SP's.

The checkbox is not greyed out for me, it's just not there.

I suspect this may be due to differences in MS Office versions, since this prompt most likely comes from there and not from the SAPGUI. We are running MS Excel 2003 SP2.
