ERMS : Inbound e-mails into SAP from exchange server

Former Member

Hi all,

We are trying to setup ERMS with in the CIC Webclient.

We are on CRM 5.0 , WAS 7.0 and using MS exchange server 2003.

The outbound email are successfully setup using info from Notes 455140,

and Agent inbox FAQs and How to guides on ERMS by John Burton.

But the inbound emails are not coming into SAP system from the e-mail server.

We also checked note 46147 to fix issues of inbound email but were not successful.

I also checked the blog by Thomas Jung.

We just have one instance of SAP CRM system.

Please let me know if we are missing anything or

if there is any config to be done on the MS Exchange server in detail.

Thanks,

Neo

Did you check the Mails are coming into SAP , either in SCOT or SOST.

If yes , then there might be that the Event Linkage for the ERMS Workflow is missing .

Go to SWU0 and do a Event Simulation , specifying the Object Type and Event ( I think Object Type ERMSSUPRT2 , Event MAILRECEIVED )

You can see a detail description of what Workflow Task is linkked and if it currently Activated or Not .

You can go to SWETYPV to define this Link and activate it .

The problem is ...Im not getting any e-mails into the SAP system.

Also,I have done all the necessary Workflow settings.

(The steps you mentioned were in the How to Guides and i configured them)

Are you using SAPConnect ? Then you should check SCOT and you should have a SMTP Node configured which should point to your SMTP Host Server etc.

if this is not configured , get in touch with your Basis guys.

Yes Im Using SAP Connect and SMTP is configured.

The outbound emails are going out to the Exchange server.

As i mentioned in my Post,Everything is configured on SAP side .

I just want to know if any settings are to be done on MS Exchange server to route the mails to SAP.

If yes , can you please let me know what they are??

If no, how will the MS Exchange server know to forward the mails to SAP.

Thanks,

Neo.

Hi

It sounds like your question is "How do I configure Exchange to relay certain email addresses to another SMTP server?"

Maybe that would be better asked on a Microsoft forum.

Make sure that you set the port to the one that is set for your client's SMTP node in SICF.

Cheers

Hi Neo,

I think you should checkout the great Blog: <a href="/people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/09/receiving-e-mail-and-processing-it-with-abap--version-610-and-higher E-Mail and processing it with ABAP - Version 610 and Higher.

Hi Neo,

were you able to resolve the issue of not able to receive e-mails into SAP. We are facing the same problem. We are even trying out with the mail server that is in the same network. But still we are not receiving e-mails into SAP. We are on CRM 5.0 SP7. I have referred to the note 455140, Inbox FAQ, ERMS documents from service market place and the blog by Thomas Jung. But no luck so far. Please guide if you have rectified it.

Hi shridhar,

Where are you checking whether you got the emails into SAP or not??

If you want to see the emails in the CIC Agent Inbox, you have to use the Rule Modeler to create a rule to route the emails to the inbox. Please check its related documentation.

Thanks,

Neo.
