drawing list tracking

Hi,

I am looking for information about how to track diferent versions of same drawings - e.g. target date and issue date. The drawing has multiple versions and are issued in various stages of project over a period. Where to store the drawings - in one single DIR or multiple DIR. Do we also need to use ECM to create revisions of DIR.

.

Thanks.

Anirudh,

'Content Versions' is used to track different versions of the same drawing. you can store different versions of drawing in a single document version for different stages. you can view all the versions of the drawing. But this functionality is achieved only when you check in documents using Kpro.

Reward points if useful.

Anirudh,

there r two types of versions.

at DIR level

and Content Version

DIR Level

partabc/ipt/000/01 01 is version which you can change to 02 in CAD Desktop

For content version u have to do some settings like

in

DC30 -

select WS application n put content version check box

DC10 -

select filetype for which u want to create content version and select status at which u want to create content version.

and

Cdesk_cus -

add parameter cdesk_ext_active to value X for the system and for the user group or specific user.

then by goin to SAPVIEW selecting the configured file type (may be part or assembly etc) u can view the content version and make it activate

the history can also be seen.

i feel for assemblies the 01 ---> 02 woks fine.

im stillexploring content version

if u want i can send u the doc for prerequisites.
