data uploading problem

once data is uploaded on production server and after that i noticed some errors in that, how can i change it?

also tell me what is role of functional consultant in data uploading?

i guess as data is uploaded using BDC, it is the function of basis consultant.

but for this what we need to do as a functional consultant?

please elaborate,as i have never did that.

Hi sandip

Data upload is the job of functional consultants only as we only know what data should be there in the master datas or transaction data's uploaded.

you can create LSMW or take the help of an abaper to create LSMW or BDC to up load the data's.

If some thing which is uploaded is wrong create another LSMW or BDC & change the same ( any way Basis is no way involved in data upload except for giving proper authorizations).In most master data's there ar option's for mass change u can use them instead of creating an LSMW or BDC for change.

up while uploading the master data's,then the consultants will help them for

smooth uploading.

Hi Sandip,

In the implementation perspective Data accuracy is the resp of the core team member and not with the consultant.

Consultant helps the client to load the data into the server either using LSMW (normally consultant wud do this) or with the help of abaper create BDC and upload.

Nowhere BAsis guys come into the picture. With the help of ababpers we will load the data into the server using BDC.For creating BDC we need to tell the abapers the details of datas we want to upload in terms of fields and tables.

For mass changing if possible use std SAP transactions or create one nore BDC to load the data.

Dear Sandip,

As far I have seen,only Core Team Members for respective module upload the

master data using LSMW or BDC whatever has mentioned for uploading the datas.

Dear Sandip,Basis consultant will not come here into picture.

His role will be to create roles,profiles,authorization related activities as per to the

respective Authorization Control Matrix.

And always before uploading the datas,to be safe on side,we have to ensure the

datas are correct.

I dont have much idea about how its done for QM module.

What types of datas u mean to say.

I hope you will get some more answers.Check & work.
