Hi all

For certain batch managed products we need to do batch at goods receipt. This in turns means there is no batch in the process order and therefore no batch populating into the 03 inspection lot. The users are then having to manually go into the inspection lot each time and assigning one of the batches so they are able to make the UD.

Is there a Function module or note that could help automate that the system would automatically take the first batch of the Goods receipt of the order and populate into the 03 inspection lot.

No, nothing that I am aware of.

Are you doing weekly orders or something else like that?

No it is daily orders but the Goods receipt is for product going into tanks. The tanks are then topped up with Nitrogen each and then tested for levels for certain parameters. The tanks also in itself can cause contamination so that is why they want to batch manage each tank so therefore each Goods receipt is a new batch. The product has all come from the one process order hence one 03 inspection lot. It is just manually work for every 03 lot to assign the batch to be able to make the UD.

Have you looked at using inspection points for this with one of the identifiers being the tank ID?
