i am working on a project. I am from Vander-Bend here at San Jose, CA.

I use crystal 7 with Visual basic 6 to compile report and i was able to run the exe from any standalone workstation. I just used to install a lightweight software called seagate crystal report distribution.

But lately i had a trial version of crystal report developer version xi and i was able to compile a report(exe) and was able to run from the same computer without any problem. But when i go to those workstation, it throws out an error saying Runtime error 713. Application defined or object defined error. I believe i need some new version of that seagate crystal report distribution that understands crystal xi. Could you pleasehelp me.

Thanks

Wow, CR 7 is 1999 software. We stopped using the Distribution package around that time also. It no longer exists.

Problem is you are still using software that is no longer supported by either SAP or Microsoft, time to upgrade.

No way to even begin to debug this problem.

Only option is to upgrade to Visual Studio 2015 or 2017 and get the .NET CR runtime from here:

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads

And completely rewrite your application using C# or VB using CR .NET Assemblies and then using VS to build a distribution package yourself.

That link has all you need to get started on upgrading.

Good luck

Don
