Hi Imran,

R U able to upload documents in other km folders. If you can not there also you should configure JVM Variable for a temp directory on the server instance(in config tool ).

If that is not a problem then check if there is any approval process defined on that km folder. Change the user access to full control and check it.

hi ,

all thanks again

can you tell me, like we are using portal and KM both when we publish any document what functionality is responsible to redirect the document to portal and after publishing where that document is stored.I mean to say is there any log or some configuration settings where we can check whether that document is correctly redirected to its location as it is not appearing now,and one more thing is that permissions setting is allright.

Hi Imran,

Usually Portal and KM are on the same server, this is the same instance that is running.

Documents / News are stored in CM repositories (System Admin -> System Config -> KM -> Content Manaagment -> Rpository Managers -> CM repositories.

There you find the provided by SAP repositories : the most used is /documents, where by default all is stored. This is a DB repositoy (all info is stored in the Portal DB)

You can create your own repositories (most common is FSDB, ie the document are stored on a FileSystem and his metadata in the Portal DB)

Kind regards

we are not able to publish any document under KM

for example like I want to publish news under corporate-->home in the portal

KM path for this is Intranet>articles>corporate -->home. When we are publishing that one it is showing the link in the portal for that document but on clicking the link it is not showing any content but showing error "404".

Hi imran,

please verify the lifetime of the document (in properties).

Most of the time, the path is ok for the document, but if the lifetime is wrong (document is oudated, not published), you will get a 404 error, until you have the super admin role.

Do you use the standard SAP repositories (meaning documents are stored in /documents), or do you have created your own (DB, FSDB or DBFS) repository (meaning documents are stored in /myrepository) ?

Kind regards

Brad,

From My experience with lifetime activated for news, I did never got a 404 error if the news is not in a good validity period.

If there is no news in the validity period, and you do only have read access, the system do not display any item.

The problem of Imran, is that the system displaies the items, so they should be in good validity period, if you have only read access.

Kind regards

Hi Imran,

you can check your permission settings. This includes the permissions on corresponding iViews and the documents itself. If these permissions are correct, then check if you have included the document correctly. That means, that you have to specify a valid path to the resource (check the access link).

If your document is stored on a windows file share and you included in your document via a Filesystem Repository, then check the following, too:

1. Created correctly a Windows System

1. Correct settings in Network Path

2. User has read-permissions to file share

3. Filesystem Repository is created correctly

4. You have done User-Mapping

I hope, I could help you.

Best regards,

Denis
