I am running process chains early morning. I one process chain I am carry out an attribute change run on 0MAT_PLANT and on the other on different InfoObjects. Can these run at the same time or if they do can they cause a lock? Thanks

Hi Ananad,

you can run at same time.. it's not a problem.. because.. Attribute change run is only applying the new master data or changes of master data in reporting level.. so, it wont give you any cause to lock..

Hi,

you can schedule two attribute change run at the same time.

seems you are trying to run two attribute change runs at the same time...it will not lock...at any particular time you can have as many attribute change run but they should not have any objects in common and also you cannot have any data loads at that time happening to those objects.

Thanks

Funny... My reply would have been "no", as in our system parallel activation always creates lock situations. We do all our attribute change runs in serial.

Check out note 903886:

<i>(2)You cannot execute several change runs in parallel (do not confuse this with the 'parallel processing' described in Note 534630). For more information, see Note 825927.</i>

Agree with Eduard.

Two simultaneous Process Chains will lock each other unless you specify different InfoObjects or Hierarchies for each one of them.
