Search sends me off to nowhere?

When I start a search it send me off to a page outside the community with no way to get back.

Search results are gibberish, the profile avatar gets deleted. When I click on it I'm being logged out.

Does this happen for anybody else, too?

    Hi Frank,

Veselina is right that crawling and indexing on the community's huge amount of existing content that was migrated will take a while (possibly even a few days) to complete.

Regarding brand new content, such as a question posted today, it's my understanding that content should appear in search within half an hour or so.

Not sure in what way you feel the search results are gibberish, perhaps you could explain that a little more so I can see if there is any way we can help.

Regarding the avatar not showing up in the search results, thank you for pointing that out; the search team is investigating this now.

Regarding being logged out, if you look closely at your screen shot you'll see that you weren't actually logged out. It still says Frank there. The generic avatar with the "Log out" liink does kind of make it appear like you've been logged out though, I can see that. We need to do some work on aligning the header experience between the search platform and the rest of the site, and I know this is on the list of things to do.

    • Hi Audrey,

"gibberish" referes to the (not-yet-indexed?) content that shows in my screenshot.

I'm being logged out _if_ I click on where my Avatar _should_ be, which is the way to navigate in the new SCN.

I open the search in a new tab to avoid the navigation problem. This was not different in the old site (maybe you used a different search engine before and you did not notice that).

From your screenshot I see that most of the content points to the archive, which is normal. I think, somebody mentioned today issues with crawling and indexing. Maybe they need more time to get it displayed correctly.

Back to your question: I see the same results, this is not browser-related.

Concerning search: to ensure the avatar shows up correctly in search, we will re-crawl the entire archive (will take us into next week)
