Http Error 500 when logging into SAP Netweaver Portal

Hi All,

I am getting a Http 500 internal server error when logging into the SAP Netweaver portal. The login page is loaded and prompts the user to enter their User ID and password. After I enter the credentials the portal Home page is not loaded and a blank screen appears.

The error message displayed in the html Viewsource is :

An exception occurred while processing a request for :

iView : com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default

Component Name : com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default

com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: IOError while working with the message. Check the nested Exception..

Exception id: 09:14_15/08/07_0017_4848350

This problem is there only to a few users and others could login and the page is loading fine for them. We are using EP 7.0 SAP Netweaver Portal.

Not sure what went wrong as it was working last week.

Did you do any changes in portal proxy.If yes restart the J2ee server. If possible post detailed log file [Exception id: 09:14_15/08/07_0017_4848350]

Thanks for your reply.

Not any changes we are aware of. The thing is it is working for some people (they can login and go to the homepage of the portal ) and not working for some( they get login screen but they are not forwarded to the home page, instead displayed with a blank screen).

Hi Madhavi,

You just deploy the launcher again com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default.

The portal logon is working fine launcher is not working fine.

Remaining persons who can logon is only for some time.

Its problem in launcher.

Again deploy the default launcher.

We tried deploying the "com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.par" file from different portal environment which is in good condition, but there is no difference and we are still experiencing the same problem.

Any ideas???
