Hi
Does anybody have a solution for a complex issue of releasing DP forecasts to SNP. We need to release the forecast to the most appropriate DC location in SNP, based which customer the forecast is for (by product) - so not just a location split but a customer and location split.
The scenario is that products are stored and supply planned in multiple DC's but the total forecast must be split between these DCs dependent upon which customer the forecast is for (since different customers are supplied from different DCs.
I think that consumption groups might help - but I have no experience of how they work.
Thanks
thanks...
Hi John,
We have a similar requirements. We have build our own business rules for plant determination. Instead of specifying a plant per customer material, the delivering plant can be specified per product or product group and per ship-to, customers region or country. Thereby the rules are time dependent.
This logic is used in R/3 in sales order creation and in BW when demand is copied to an infocube containing plant. Finally it is also used in copy management in APO.
For us it is very important to have the same business rules in planning and operations.
Up till now we could not find a better solution.

I agree... I was mistaken... I would use descriptive characteristics and consumption groups.
Plus, If you use SNP optimizer you can allocate sales orders based upon sourcing decision of the customer based forecast...

Hi John,
I think consumption groups is the way to go. Use customer as descriptive characteristic and use the consumption group. I am sure this is not complex. Refer to this link.
By the way, if you use the CBF, you cannot release to SNP as SNP doesnot support variants yet.
Hope this helps.

you can consider CBF...
If you are forecast by customer why not have dc as a navigational attribute of the customer than you can release by dc?
