Does ST-QCA add-on need to be uninstalled or not when upgrade to solution manager 7.2?

Dear Expert,

Some customers are using ST-QCA add-on on their solution manager 7.1 for integration with HP ALM.

So my question is does customer need to uninstall ST-QCA before upgrade and re-install it in 7.2 system?

I find some notes related to this add-on regarding solman upgrade, but what confused me is there are two different sayings for this add-on:

1. Note: 1109650 - SAP Solution Manager 7.x Extension Addons

says "This component is saved automatically when you upgrade to SAP Solution Manager 7.1 or 7.2"

2. Note: 2408560 - Non-permitted release of add-on ST installed - after upgrade to ST 720 SP03 & installing ST-QCA

says: "The component ST-QCA was removed during the upgrade from SAP Solution Manager 7.1 to 7.2 as expected."

Can anyone give me an accurate answer for this based on your own experience? Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Nick

    Hi,

Based on our experience, you can do both. Just don't forget to implement SAP Note 2459998 in case you uninstall the add-on.

I believe the best way to get an answer would be to open an OSS message though.

    'luck!

    Dear Nick,

Note: 1109650 - SAP Solution Manager 7.x Extension Addons

If you upgrade 7.1 to 7.2 the ST-QCA add-on remains on the system.
    I just did this recently.
