ECC 6.0 IDES License Error

All,

I'm trying to license ECC6.0 IDES and I keep getting an error:

Error when importing the file "C:\E6I_WEBAS.txt" (sy-subrc = 7)

Message no. SLIC303

Has anyone seen an error like this before? I've been unable to find any related notes. Also, I see this in one of the WP log ...

M *** ERROR => GetAllLicenses: malloc failed; errno=0 (Error 0) [slicch.c 1557]

Y *** ERROR => ... Dynpro-Field= >LICENSE_TABLE-STATE< [dypropbag.c 642]

Y *** ERROR => ... Dynpro= >SAPMSLIC< >1000< [dypropbag.c 643]

I would appreciate any insight any of you might have, thank you.

login with SAP* client 000, then go into transaction SLICENSE, click on NEW LICENSE button (top right) and add the file. if you upgraded, you will need to delete the old license first.

as far as I know, saplicense program DOES NOT handle new licenses from netweaver.

Eric,

Thank you. I was in client 001 I didn't realize that this was a client dependent process. It seems to me I've done it in the past in other system from a different client. Maybe not, but in any case, I appreciate your help.

Hi TJ,

did you try and restart SAP already ?

Is the kernel "up to date" ? (at least 104 or higher)

This sounds to me to be a general kernel issue or that the WP "went crazy" so that the MALLOC cannot work anymore ...

Volker,

Thank you for the response. Yes I did try to restart the system, but the level isn't at 104 or higher. It's currently at 75, which matches the one we're using in our Solution Manager system - where the licensing piece does work.

Hi TJ,

normally 75 should work - but I would strongly recommend to upgrade the kernel first ... 75 is the initial delivery and should be patched during installation ...

(even when the problem might persist)

You might want to try the command SAPLICENSE as follows:

(after that you copied the license to /tmp)

saplicense '-install ifile=/tmp/E6I_WEBAS.txt'

I will try to update the kernel. In the meantime, I did try to apply it at the OS level as you suggested and received this message:

      • ERROR: data in file /tmp/E6I_WEBAS.txt incomplete(143/175)

Data: SID, CKEY, INSTNO, EXPDATE, LKEY, SYSID

1 1 1 1 0 1

saplicense: Error reading license data from file /tmp/E6I_WEBAS.txt

Press ENTER to end terminal session

Hi TJ,

did you check, that the license is correct ?

(or is someting missing there?)
