Following this question does anyone know if I can create a delivery without specifying a storage location? We are delivering birth certificates which are not stock items. We just want to record whether they've been sent out or not.

Hi,

No You can not do the delivery with out shipping point.

Shipping Conditions + Loading Group + Plant = Determines the Shipping Point Determination.

So while Delivery Creation itself the System will ask for Shiping Point.this is the Prerequsite.

Hi AS per my knowledge

Shipping points in SD represent an independent organizational unit that are linked to a plant. Shipping points show the point of departure or receipt of materials. In SAP, a plant may have many shipping points. However, delivery is created from one shipping point only. The shipping point is the basic requirement for a delivery to happen in SAP SD. No delivery can be made without a shipping point. The shipping point is determined by the system based on the shipping conditions

YES For Cash orders where the delivery is automatically created,

and NO if you have a transportation and shipping to done using SAP, as the system should understand from where exactly you are trying to ship the goods

Hi Anuj,

Are you sure this is possible?

If i'm right the shipping point would be determined in the sales order document and would be used while creating a delivery automatically in the cash orders.

yeah sorry i did not realise and consider that you cant create even a cash sale order without shipping point it is must , i agree to you any delivery to be created needs a shipping point in place.

For initiating delivery shipping point is a must.

Shipping point is determined by Plant, Loading Group and shipping conditions.
