VALID FROM DATE - BOM

How to change the valid from date for a material bom? pls reply

Hi,

Go CS02, enter the material for which bom is to be changed.

Now go to Material BOM in the menu bar and click on delete.

Then create the bom for that material through CS01 with required Valid From Date.

1. You can change the validity only if you have a ECM active .If ecm is not active then follow the steps as in point2.

2. If ecm is not active then we cant change rather we need create a BOM with validity as the requireed date and reenter the components .

Dear Anil,

Is ECM active?. If so, then you have to create a Change request within which you mention the valid from date. This can be done either for creating a bom or changing a bom.

If not active, then you can set the effectivity date in the intial screen of CS01/CS02 - Create / Change BOM transaction and proceed further.

Dear Mr.Anil Pawar,

While creating the BOM of a material,change the valid from date that's present in

CS01 Screen,then the BOM becomes valid or effective from the valid from date.

Eg,IF you are creating a BOM for a material say X,whose valide from date is 01.09.2007,then in CS01 screen itself,enter the date as 01.09.2007 in the valid from field.

Once created,that date becomes the valid from date for that BOM.

In the case of using Change number,then as per the Valid from date of that ECN,the BOM will be valid.
