SAP SSM: Scorecard Filter in Context Management

Dear Experts,

I am a beginner in SAP SSM and would like to know how the filter in scorecard work.

In Strategy Management Administrator website
Menu : Context Management -> Manage Scorecards -> Scorecard Defaults

I want to filter the scorecard by ( SBU = Agro ) AND ( Function = Not Assigned ), so I added these 2 fields in the Filter pane as in the attached picture.
However, it seems that the system applies the "OR" operation rather than "AND" operation.

The system performs like ( SBU = Agro ) OR ( Function = Not Assigned )

Is there any way to set the filter to be ( SBU = Agro ) AND ( Function = Not Assigned )?

Best regards,

The filters do operate on an AND basis. The problem you have I suspect is the Not assigned filter. Effectively you are saying you want to filter so as to show your Not assigned data in the Function dimension which is also within the Agro member of the SBU dimension. That's a very unusual decision as by definition Not assigned are the bits that are uncategorised.

I have no idea whether Not assigned is a valid selection and don't have a chance to test it but my suspicion if that is valid would be that you could be filtering everything out if there is nothing 'Not assigned'. Normally the Not assigned data would be the bits that need cleaning up or are just a 'dumping ground'.

Try starting with just the filter for SBU = Agro and see what you get.

If you have another filter you need to apply onto the Agro data then it would be far better for it to be 'real' member of the dimension that you use as the filter as normally Not assigned will tell you very little.

You do not need to apply filters to each dimension if you do not need to. If you are applying Not assigned because you don't want any filter on that Function dimension then just don't apply a filter. Same as each metric can have anywhere from 0 to 12 dimensions applied to it. Many metrics have 0 dimensions applied to them.

      Dear Colin,

Thank you so much for your information. In our first situation, data come from BW as below.

      KPI | SBU | Function | Amount

      K001 | Agro | # | 1000

      K001 | Agro | FB01 | 2000

We need to show value of KPI K001 as 1000 on the Agro Scorecard and show 2000 on the FB01 Scorecard.

Is FB01 at a level below Agro in the dimension? If so then you should be able to apply a similar filter ie a FB01 filter using the same selection mechanism. If FB01 is a member of that Agro dimension then it will appear as an option.

Using the example shown from the pwsample demo system you could filter the STORE dimension on the East level or on the Boston level or on the Worecester, Ma member if you were creating a scorecard just for the Worcester store.

The data will automatically be filtered so as to show the values for Worcester in the Worcester scorecard.
