Is Old Content Dead?

All old content (Discussions and documents, but not blog posts) has moved to archive.

However, it seems that archive is in read-only mode. As a result, no new comments (or answers) can be added.

Why is that?

    hi Shai,

    since your content is still getting moderated, you do not have enough permissions to add comments. however, you can post answers (which are getting moderated).

    As for your questions, in the old system we had a huge number of questions from many years. Since we wanted to have a fresh start with the new system, the content was not migrated into it but placed in the archive. for the vast majority of questions, this would be enough. In case you have a specific question that was not yet fully answered, you can post it again in the new system (make sure to tag it with the most relevant primary tag). Unfortunately, we do not have a way to migrate questions from the archive to the new system, but you can surely reference to it.

    • One thing to add, beside Yaniv's point about starting fresh, is that discussions from the old platform are not the same as questions. This was analyzed by the community team, but in the end it was determined that the two (discussions and questions) are two distinct content types and therefore discussions would not be 'migrateable' to questions.

    hi Shai,

    the archive of its nature is read only. New content in the new Answers and Blogs system can be edited and replied, and whatever is in the archive would just stay as it is.

    Hi Yaniv,

    For some reason, I cannot comment your answer ("You do not have enough permissions").

    The question was regarding ongoing/live discussions, which have been moved just at once to archive: Is there any way to migrate into "new" discussions?
