Restricted key figure question

Former Member

Scenario 1: Query with 2 key figures KF1 & KF2

KF1 is restricted by FISCPER=2007005 using a variable

KF2 is restricted by FISCPER=2007006 using a variable

Will the query dataset include all FISCPER values and then restrict the KFs accordingly, or will the dataset only include data for FISCPER=2007005-2007006.

Scenario 2 Query with 2 key figures KF1 & KF2

KF1 is restricted by FISCPER=2007005 using a variable

KF2 is not restricted

What is the query dataset?

Sista,

I understand how the KFs will be restricted, I am trying to understand what data is being retrieved for FISCPER in query dataset. Are all FISCPER values retrieved and then the KFs are restriscted, etc

Hi Raynald,

The restriction is on FISCPER. So the KF values are filtered / restricted by the FISCPER selected.

Hope this helps.

Hi raynald,

When the query runs and after the variable values are entered for fiscper the time period gets restricted first to the specified values and then the relevenat data for the KF's are shown.

Hope this helps

Hi Raynald,

Scenario 1: KF1 will display values effective for FISCPER=2007005 only. While, KF2 will display values effective for FISCPER=2007006 only. If they are used in the same query then also they will display their respective values.

Scenario 2: KF1 will display values effective for FISCPER=2007005 only. While, KF2 will display all values available irrespective of FISCPER. If they are used in the same query then also they will display their respective values.

Hope this helps.
