DTW - Document Import - Document Status Closed

We are customizing the system of our new client and need to import old

documents from its old system. The processing of these documents is

already completed in the old system, hence the document status in SAP

should be closed.

There is no way to directly set the document status using a field in

the import file Documents.xls to close the documents on import - our

idea was to use field 'ClosingDate', but whichever date we set in this

field, the document status in SAP remains open!

Currently I'm importing to business object 'oOrders'.

My question: Is there any way to close the order documents on import?

If not, how can we close a bulk of imported order documents - because

of the large number of documents it is not possible to close each

document manually!

Thank you for your help

    Hi Frank,

There is no way you can import "closed" documents in SAP B1. However, what I would suggest is to import the subsequent documents using DTW. So for A/R Invoices, import the corresponding Incoming Payments and it should do the trick.

Further background information to this problem:

If you import "open" documents the effect in SAP is as if you add/book new documents (e.g. invoices) in SAP manually, i.e. there are effects to the journal and "other financial entities" (sorry, I'm not an expert in financial stuff).

All the old documents, we would like to import as "closed", date back to several years, they are allready booked and paid years ago in other systems. Even if we import them as "open" documents and cancel or close them manually in SAP, it might come to major problems with fiscal authorities ... as the financial experts of our company informed us.

I'm not sure, if this has any impact on the import problem - but you should bear such questions in mind if you are concerned with such questions ...

      Frank.
