what is the diff. between VALUE STRING & POSTING STRING?
and teh relation between the same.

Value string and posting string are same.
Through the allocation of a posting string to a movement type, the system automatically determines the G/L accounts to be updated in the event of a goods movement.

Value strings are WE01, WE06 and many more for different movement types.
Please Go to Table T156W and look for value string for a movement type.

Both are same and used for automatic account assignment.
Each mvt type has some value string attached to it and value strings are system defined, you can not create/update one.
