    Hello Sigid,

I am changing the tag from "SQL Anywhere" to "SAP SQL Anywhere".

If you are buying from SAP resellers, there are two editions. Workgroup, Edge Edition or Advanced Edition.

    https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=SSAstage&title=SAP+SQL+Anywhere+Editions

In SAP license and pricing, both editions have user license model or core license model. User licese model counts number of named users. 1 Workgroup Edge user model package includes 1 server and 5 named users licenses.

1 Advanced Edition user model package includes 1 server and 25 named users.

As for core license model, minimum number of order is 4 cores for both Workgroup Edge edition and Advanced Edition.

Minimum 4 cores are for 1 SQL Anywhere server. Core means physical core.

You don't have to buy all the cores in a machine, just the number of cores you use with SQL Anywhere server (but minimum is 4).

It depends on how many cores you would use for SQL Anywhere server, but generally if you need 40 users to access the server, core license model would provably be less expensive.

    Best regards,

    Sawa

Unfortunately, the "SQL Anywhere" tag is reserved for Japanese posts.
"SAP SQL Anywhere" as the primary tag for SQL Anywhere questions in English.

FYI, below the is the link to SAP store. You can see the licensing models.
