We are upgrading to BI 7.0. We execute an apd process that updates an attribute in a characteristic. The query executes but returns zero records. When we execute the query in rsrt we get a listing of records.
Anyone encountered similar issues?
Hi John,
Is this Query resolved, I am also facing similar issue.

In query properties, there would be a checkbox to allow query for external access. I 'think' that checkbox needs to be marked for a query to be used in APD.
In the APD editor, rightclick the query and do a 'calculate intermediate result' - afterwards do a 'display data' from the context menu there. You can confirm how long the execution took (as compared to RSRT) to see if the query is running at all. You may also need to check if any error or warning messages are returned by the query.
Variables and variants do not work with queries in APD upto certain BI patch level, there are 3-4 OSS notes that might be needed if you are using either.

I have executed with variant in both situations. In APD from the context menu. I select Display data and no data displays - almost like the query is not being executed at all.
I have other APD 's with BW queries and variants and they work OK and I didn't have to check for external access. I did for this query but still not providing data.
Thanks for the help.
Hi John,
Are you executing the APD using any Variant, I guess this might possibly be the reason. Can you try executing the Query in RSRT using the same variant being used in APD?
Cheers,
Praveen.
