Business role restriction not working for accounts and opportunity

Dear All,

I am asking this question on quick basis. Please anyone have earliest optional answers please let me know.

Scenario: As per the authorization restrictions. I have set a business role to restricted for accounts/opportunity (Read/Write)

However, When i check from the users credentials,

1. accounts: in "all" drop down list filter, all accounts are visible. as per the standard behavior it should restrict user to only view accounts its related to. but its not happening!!

2. Opportunity: In "All" drop down list filter, all the opportunities are visible. as per the standard behavior it should restrict user to only view opportunities which its related to.

Please advice!

    Hello Summan,

    it might also be that you are seeing the accounts/opportunities for which there is no responsible employee.

    If you check with an Admin, unrestricted user, do you see the same numbers in All Accounts and All Oppys as you do when you use the restricted Business Role?

    Anyway, I agree with Amit, that you should raise an incident to have the issue properly investigate.

    Open an incident and clearly define the exact access restriction rule that you defined for the business role/user and the result you would like to see.

    Its very difficult to analyze the issue without seeing access restriction rule of business role and system expected behaviour

      Hi Amit,

      Thank you, I have already raised a incident,However, waiting for the response. I will provide more details now. please provide any input if anything as of now.

      For example: A Business role is created for a user with only Opportunity and Accounts WoC assigned and in access restrictions both above WoC's are in restriction status for- read/Write. Now when I log in from user credentials.

      Scenario 1: In Sales> Opportunity - If user filters " All" from the selection criteria where options are All/My opportunity/ My teams opportunity/opportunity for my Territory. Then as per standard System should only show opportunities assigned to that user or if its associated with any opportunity(eg; Employee list of opportunity) but Instead total list is visible.

      Scenario 2: In Customer> Accounts If user filters " All" from the selection criteria where options are All/My accounts/ My teams Accounts.. etc Then as per standard System should only show Accounts assigned to that user or if its associated with any accounts (eg; Employee list of account) but Instead total list is visible.

      In above both scenario its a functionality issue as user is viewing more than it should. Please advice!

    Hi Suman,

    I just want to check with you whether you applied Access Restrictions rules to the required work centres?

    If not apply and please assign Access Restrictions rules for Employee.

    Navigate Business role and Access Restrictions Tab and choose Restricted and choose one of the Restrictions Rules.

    In your case use 03 Employee Restrictions Rule for the Accounts and opportunities Work centres.

    The available restriction rules:

    01 Assigned Territories

    02 Assigned Service Organization

    03 Employee

    04 Assigned Territories, Service Organization, or Employee
