VK 11 - one of my field description is not diplaying -?

In vk 11 when I am trying to maintain condition record, not able to see the description of the field in the screen -?

Please some one can help me on this isuue.

Can you give further details as to find the solution for the same. Do write in detail for which field the description is not seen.

Anuj is right the description field is for material. The material you enter in the field its description will poup automatically in the description for field which you maintain in materila master.

Suppose u maintain materials with number like M-10 and description as "thumsup"

Murali - you are right , I am using material grop field (mvgr2) in the vk11, the description of the field is not comming to vk11.How to see the description in vk11 ?

hi,

check the domain assigned in the KOMK/KOMP stucture, if you have defined then it will come automatically. check the note 325551.

Tto explain handling of field texts with SAP condition maintenance:

Within condition maintenance it's possible to use serveral standard

fields and it's also possible to use customer own fields. But for all

this fields, their own handling is required. You see this for example

in include MV13AKOM, which calls different routines for field check and

field text determination depending on different fields. Thus, we

consider first fields of standard condition tables regarding field

check/text and implemented coding accordingly. But there are also

standards fields used by customer, which are "not prepared" in standard

condition maintenance regarding field check/text handling. On of this

standards fields is ZTERM.

But due to the fact, that we allow to use field ZTERM, I can provide

you with a solution by using BTE 00503306 'Maintain conditions: Text

determination'. You'll find a very detailed documentation and a coding

example in attached note 325551. There you'll find the required simple

coding, how to issue a text string for field 'MATNR'. You can easily

adapt this accordingly for field ZTERM. You can select the payment term

description from field TEXT1 of table T052U.

Hello,

There is a way that you can change or add the description.

...

If you go to ransaction v/07 then select the access sequence that you

wish to change.

Take note of the table number associated with access attached to the

payment terms.

Then go to se16 and look at table TMC1T, enter the table number of the

access and click the execute button.

Now here you can select and change what is displayed in the description.

But onemore thing I need to know.

In vk 11 in detail screen the moment i enter materil in the footer field the desiption will auotmatically pops up.

Now instead of using material I am using material group field , but the descrption of the field is not poping up?

Please can you help meon this.

I am glad to help!

In the standard SAP system the field check and texts for product hierarchy are not performed. This is because the meaning of product hierarchy entries are dependent on the lower level of the product hierarchy.

Let me show you an example:

1st level (PRODH1) - 2nd level (PRODH2)

'A' (vehicles) - 'A' (cars) , 'B' (lorries)

'B' (clocks) - 'A' (watch) , 'B'(atomic)

What should the text for the entry 'A' in the field PRODH2 be?

If you have access to OSS notes, please see note 12905 which describes a way on how to implement a determination rule for a product hierarchy field using the complete product hierarchy. This note also explains how to apply text determination and field check for user defined fields. In condition maintenance, the field check is performed by programmed coding and not by the 'normal' check and text tables directly - though they have to be maintained as they are used by the coding.

Also, you might find note 354807 helpful too.

I apologise for my "diagram". I had to rearrange it because when I previewed it, it didn't look right! I hope it is illegible!

well this description will be greyed out because it is the one you maintain in the Basic Data 1 in MM01, so what ever description you give here will automatically get copies the moment you enter the material name in VK11

Which is the field, did you add the field on your own to the pricing communication structure. If so then you will have to check the domain assigned.
