Serial number overwritten during goods issue.

The material master is maintained with serial number profile, goods receipt is done and subsequently during stock posting by quality they use the option of automatic serial number creation and system creates automatic serial number. This is stockable and the material is issued against reservation, which will be then converted as equipment and used in maintenance plan. During goods issue system prompts for serial number, in this condition if a serial number is already reduced from stock then the same should not be allowed by system to be issued- at present system overwrites the old serial number.

Anybody with idea to solve this problem?
