Hello,

For a customer, we have to develop a Java application that will run on HCP to synchronize appointments between SAP C4C and MS Outlook bidirectional.

I am quite new in HCP. So I don't know where to start.

I have two major questions:

-Do I have to create a cloud connector for any part of the application?

-How could I enable the synchronization?

Thank you very much in advance. Any input is much appreciated.

Hi Sel,

when you say Outlook you mean Office 365 or an Exchange Server or what exactly? First of all, you need to identify the APIs you want to leverage, e.g. the RESTful APIs for Office 365 are documented here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/office/office365/APi/calendar-rest-operations

Of course you also need the counter-part on C4C side.

Then you need to write an app that periodically uses these APIs to sync. You could use a scheduling framework such as Quartz for that purpose (assuming you'll write a Java app). Here's an example: https://blogs.sap.com/2013/02/22/scheduling-jobs-on-sap-netweaver-cloud-using-quartz/

That's a high-level approach to it... hope that helps you getting started!

Cheers,

matthias
