Reprocessing process with production entries

Experts;

Please check the below scenario

Produced some items and we cannot use the same due to quality issues . we need to reprocess it (let’s say tempering process is not ok so we need to retemper it ). Currently we don’t use any system to record it .

How can we show the reprocessing in system to capture cost but should show as production .

We need to get the details of manpower utilized for reprocessing ..how much breakage happening during reprocessing etc..is there any standard program for the same?

Many thanks,

Vijesh

    My suggestion would be to create a work centre called "Rework" or similar with the same activity types as a standard manufacturing work centre.

    When there is reprocessing to be done, add an operation to the Production Order using this work centre and code the time to it.

    The costs are captured within the Production Order and you can report on the qty of Reprocessing using std Production reports.

    Hope this helps

    Darrell.

    Here is the rework process when you use services(labor/Machine) but not creating a new item -

    Create an Rework order – CORO (COR7 – for Production Orders)
    Assign the standard/parent order
    Assign the components that you are using for rework
    Confirm the order – CORK/ CO15

      Yes, It should work.. You can create a scenario in Test system and show this to Costing guy to check if the order is settled correctly or not.

      Thanks,
