XML forms / news - delete button

Former Member

In the RenderListItem form, I did included two buttons :

- edit button to edit the news => work perfectly

- delete button to delete the news => the problem

When I click on the delete button, I receive the following message :

"

XML - Forms

Item /BvD-it SEPNews/Others/0056c04e-7c12-2a10-8185-c74e6f577c75.xml does not exist

"

but the file do exist.

When I click on the OK button (at the end of the message), the news is effectively deleted.

So this is functionnaly working, but it comes with a non relevant error message.

Thank you for your help

Vincent

Hi Vincent,

This one seems a bit odd, especially since it eventually does delete.

Did you check the trace files already to see if there is anymore information as to error in there?

Sorry I cannot be of more help,

Marc

Hello Vincent,

Could you please let me know if you were able to resolve this issue. We have a similar problem, for us the Edit link throws the error but delete link works. This happens on News List iView. If only we could hide the error message that is fine.

Please let me know the OSS note number as well.

Sudhakar

Hi Sundhakar,

SAP did never provides a solution,

They try to connect to our server but without success. So I gave up ...

What I did is just not using these buttons, but configuring the news layout set, to use the standard features.

Hope this help

Hello Vincent,

That is an insult to SAP. I hope someone is listening and will address the issue immediately.

What is surprising is the error occurs in EP 6 as well but it is never displayed on the page, it is thown in the server log. in EP 7 it is displayed on screen and thrown on server log as well.

Let us hope if sonmeone responds.

Hi Vincent,

the delete/edit commands are not supported anymore. If you want to edit/delete

your XMLForms items, you should use FlexUI commands instead.

You can see an SAP delivered example LayoutSet at

> ContentManagement > News

Thank you Matthias,

I did add the buttons to the xml forms, not to use the FlexUI command.

This solution bette fits the layout requirements I've.

Are you sure about your statement that these buttons are no more supported ? Because I did opened an OSS message about the error, and discussion is going on, they never said it was no more supported. (Next step is to connect to our Portal)

I'll keep the Treath updated with the solution provided by SAP.

Thank you and kind regards

Vincent

Hi Vincent,

yes, they not supported anymore. They are relicts from the EP 5.0 world (very old) and they were used to Edit/Delete items from old XMLForms lists (also used in

EP 5.0). They are replaced by the new commands with the introduction of the FlexUI based lists.

Sorry about that
