How to Implement EASY DMS

Dear All,

We are implementing SAP DMS for a client, and the requirement is they wanted EASY DMS also to be implemented, do kindly do give me so hint how to go alsong with it as this is new to me.as we are using ECC 5.0

Requirements:

1. which is the SAP EASY DMS version which i have to download.

2. After downloading it, while installing on every PC, how do i map my EASY DMS to ECC Server.

3. Is there any interconnector in between the SAP DMS and EASY DMS, if yes where should i install it.

Request you to kindly help me in solving this scenario.

Hi Ravi,

1. the latest EasyDMS version is EasyDMS 6 SP07 patch 1. You will find this on the SAP Service Marketplace.

2. EasyDMS has to be installed locally on the user PC and could be started by a desktop icon.

3. The connection between EasyDMS and SAP DMS is handled by RFC connection and you don't have to install any further interconnector.

So its just installing on the local PC and noting else.

As per your 3rd point, do we need to create any RFC or system will automatically detect it. kindly confirm.

The mapping to your SAP server is done through your original SAP Gui Install, so if you have the Gui installed, it looks at the Gui settings and offers you the same SAP servers.

Where can I get/request a copy of the installtion CD for Easy DMS?

Aslo I would need the SAP download manager for this before I install , correct?

The installation is availablein sap market place already so there is no need for cd. It is just 20 mb installation so you can directly download it from the market place.

<b>Process Flow</b>

1. Before you install SAP Easy Document Management, check whether your PC fulfills all the requirements.

2. Install SAP Easy Document Management on every PC on which you want to use it.

3. Start file setup.exe from the installation CD and follow the instructions in the dialog boxes.Once open, SAP Easy Document Management automatically guides the user through the logon process.

The PC must meet the following requirements:

<b>Hardware requirements</b>:

1. Free disk space: 20 MB in the standard program folder

2. RAM: 128MB

3. Screen resolution: at least 1024x768 pixels

<b>Software requirements</b>:

1. Microsoft Windows 2000 with SP 3 or Microsoft Windows XP with SP1

2. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher

<b>SAP System settings</b>: Before you can use SAP Easy Document Management, document management must be fully configured.

<b>RFC</b>: SAP Easy Document Management uses the Remote Function Call (RFC) function to create a connection to the back-end system. When you change data in SAP Easy Document Management, it is updated in the back-end system (SAP DMS) by means of SAP DMS BAPIs that are called via RFC.

<b>PC</b>: Install SAP Easy Document Management on every PC on which you want to use it. You do not need an installation of SAP GUI on your PC. However, each PC on which SAP Easy Document Management is installed must meet the software and hardware requirements.

<b>Installation:</b> To install SAP Easy Document Management, proceed as follows:

1. Exit all programs before you install SAP Easy Document Management.

2. Start setup.exe from the installation CD.

<b>Deinstalling SAP Easy Document Management</b>:

To deinstall SAP Easy Document Management, proceed as follows:

1. In Windows, choose Start &#56256;&#56431; Settings &#56256;&#56431; Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs.

2. Find the file SAP Easy Document Management and choose Remove

Hi Ravi,

I am functional consultant for DMS project, we installed EDMS tool.

If you required any suggestions or input regarding the customization area on DMS … let me know.

No interconnector required …. You should install GUI

It will support for 4.7 atleast version also

Mapping of GUI & EDMS will be done automatically ….. select a options yes for creation of root & public folders with in few seconds the logo will display on desktop

Hi,

Just download the latest Easy DMS version available. Easy DMS links with your SAP client in the background and use the DMS settings you have created (you have to tell Easy DMS which SAP system to connect to). So implement SAP DMS and install easy DMS at the desktops of the users.
