File to IDoc Configurations

Hi,

After reading several discussions in forum, what I came to know to make a scenario like file to Idoc. I have to do some prior configurations in XI system and R/3 system. they are :

In XI System:

RFC Destination ( SM59)

Create Port (IDX1 )

Check in IDX2 for load meta data.

In R/3 System:

RFC Destination ( SM59)

WE 21 ( Port)

we20 ( Partner profile)

Please correct me If I'm wrong!!!

And, tell me what is the use of RFC Destination of R/3 system, since we have already defined it in XI system??!!!

Without creating RFC Destination in R/3 system also can we go ahead with the process.

Cheers.,

Abhi

    Hi Abhiram and Vamsi,

for File to IDOC Scenario (receiver IDOC's),

    Configuration of XI side :

SM59 - Create the RFC Destination for Relevant R/3 System

IDX1 - Create the RFCPort for the RFC Destination created above

    Configuration of R/3 side :

BD54 - Create a new logical system for File system

WE20 - Maintain the Partner Profile for Sender File System and add the inbound parameter

So, finally, You don't require to create an RFC Destination on R/3 side which points to XI, and it's only to require your posting IDOC's.

    Regards,

    Hi Abhiram and Vamsi,

    Pls ignore my prev. mail...

While doing File to IDOC or IDOC to File...you have to create RFC Destination at both sides. Otherwise your IDOC metadata should n't load properly..

So, Receiver IDOC's and Sender IDOC's both sides we should create RFC Destination.

    Sorry for my previous post..

    Thanks & Regards,

    Ramana Kumar. A

for file to idoc u don't require a RFC Destination in R/3 to XI. This is required only when u send IDOC out of ur SAP system to XI

in the scenario where ur SAP system is the receiver, u need not create the RFC destination in the R/3..

u just need a RFC destination from XI to R/3.
