TechEd Session Limit?

Is there a limit to the number of hands on and lecture sessions that you can attend at TechEd Munich or is it solely on a first come first serve basis?

I'm pretty sure that the policy will be the same for all tech eds, so here it is. You can attend as many lecture sessions as you want, the only limit would be the amount of people that they can fit into the room, which I have never seen anyone turned away. On the other hand, the hands-on sessions are limited. As a TechEd registrant, you are guarenteed at least to hands-on sessions while at teched. At some point, you will get an email announcing when the hands-on session sign up will start. You can only pre-sign up for two sessions via the website. They fill up fast, so make sure you log on at the date/time which will be annouced. If you want to go to other hands-on sessions, what you need to do is, go to the room where it is being held 15 minutes before hand, and get on the stand-by list, once all pre-registrants have entered the room, and if they still have room, they will allow others without a ticket to enter. In some cases, they will allow more than there is laptops for, so there would be a chance you don't get to put "hands-on".

Also, the two sessions that you pre-sign up for, the tickets for these will be given to you when you register on-site and get your badge.

Rich, great answer. It's obvious you've been to a TechEd or two. Thanks for sharing your first-hand experiences.

As a member of the SAP TechEd team, I just wanted to confirm what you said about lecture and hands-on workshop access. We are excited to be offering hands-on workshop sign-up for SAP TechEd '07 Munich and all other locations this year. In the past, workshops for the European event were available on a first-come, first-served basis only, but due to past attendee feedback, we are changing the policy this year to align with the other locations and allow advanced workshop sign-up.

One point of correction to Rich's statement about the hands-on workshop sign-up policy is that for Shanghai, the hands-on workshop sign-up limit is one workshop, whereas for Las Vegas, Munich, and Bangalore, the limit is two.

For more details on these policies, see the "session types and policies" section of the Educational Sessions page on each SAP TechEd '07 site.
