Hi Mrinal,

Planning Material

A planning material is required in the planning strategy "planning with planning material." e.g. strategy group 11 im MMD at MRP3 view

Non-variable parts for similar finished products can be planned using this strategy. The planning material is then assigned to the material master record of the finished products to plan. Planned independent requirements are created for the planning material. Incoming sales orders consume the planned independent requirements of the planning material.

Planned Independent Requirement

To produce a product there should be a requirement in the forms of demand. The requirement are independent requirements.

For ex. To produce a FG product in case of Make to Stock scenario PIR can be a forecast planning .

PIR means requirements which are triggered by planning not by order.

Consumption

A comparison of planned independent requirement quantities with the requirement quantities from customer requirements.

Depending on the requirements type, the quantity of planned independent requirements is reduced by the quantity from incoming sales orders.

For example you are haveing an independent requirement of 100 Kg and order of 30 Kg. The order becomes requirement of 30 Kg and the independent requirement is reduced to 70 Kg. Total requirement is still 100 Kg.

Hope this will clear your doubt.

Best Regards

Sainath
