Messages in MI client (System Messages)

Hi

There is a Messages link in the MI client home page. What is it used for? Can it be used to generate messages when ever there is new application or a patch to be downloaded? If so could please provide some links giving the procedures to implement this functionality.

The reason being is, I am implementing MTR and looking for way the users can be intimated that a new application or patch level is there to be downloaded, so that they can synchronize before getting into the application.

Hi Rajasekaran,

MI provides the System Message feature using Transaction MI_SYNEWS in ABAP to generate alerts and the message will be displayed to the end users at the end of synchronization or can be seen offline in the Messages link on MI Home Page. This certainly can be used for intimating users that a new application or patch level is there to be downloaded.
