Creation of generic datasource??

Hi,

My client wants to create one report on Plant Maintenance. What he knows is only the list of Tcodes he using and the fields he required in the BI report. I dont know where the output is getting stored. So how I have to proceed?

Can someone tell me the Minimum requirements for creating a datasource?

As I am new to BI can some one send me some documents?

Hi Mathew,

Please get the list of table and fields from which u need the data. If client can't help u on this then take help of functional consutant to know all this. Apart from this u should take detail logic to for fetching the data. This will be needed if you are trying to use FM for data source.

Hi....if you wanto to create a report about plant maintenance you must check the standard datasources that BC have...there are many datasources and (at least for me) they were very useful and i almost have not to create new datasourecs....

Check them...

before creating a custom datsource, few things you would like to check

find out the table they are reporting against in ECC?

Check if there are any std datasources based on this table?
