Installing any of the MI demo applications (without a developer key)

Hey guys,

I want to install any of the MI 2.5 demo applications that are part of the MDK documentation. I tried to install the Inventory app, which works for the client, but the backend components (really living on the middleware system) are not there. It needs a table MDK_INVENTORY and some BAPI wrappers to access the table.

Since I am running a test license and I am not a registered developer, I cannot create the table with SE11, which is asking me for the Developer Key and the Object Access Key.

Is there any package, that I can install?

Or maybe for one of the other applications?

Cheers, Andre

    Hi Andre

As you don't have a developer key you can take help from this link

    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/mobile/mobile%20infrastructure/mobile%20development%20kit%202.5/content/tutorials/smartsync/definingsyncbo.html

It gives you the full process description how to build a smart sync application. It will help you to make a MI 2.5 test application.

Further, if you don’t want to build BAPI wrappers for your sync BO’s you can use the existing ones. E.g.

    MEREP_CONTACT_GETLIST and MEREP_CONTACT_GETDETAIL

      Hi Rahul,

      that's what I did 😊

the SyncBOs can even be imported with MEREP_MIG from a text file that is supplied at the last line of the prerequisites ...

Now I have problems to sync ... which I already advertised in another thread.

Sometimes I feel so stupid 😉

    Hi Andre,

Even if you get the developer's key, you cannot create the table MDK_INVENTORY as it falls in SAP's namespace.

If you want to create an MI, better try the Smaet Sync Tutorial at the end of the MDK. That will certainly be useful.

    Regards,

    Rahul
