Hi,
We have this requirement where we have 2 different plants and parallel production process applies.
Is that possible to have parallel production between Plants? How can we run the MRP concerning different necessities for 2 plants that have work centres that produce the same material? We need that the determination of the version to produce in Plant A or Plant B will depend on quantities, meaning the Plant A and B have the same work centers.
What would be the best approach?
Thanks in advance for your advice,
lm
Thanks for your answers. We solved the issue with quota arrangement!

Hi Ligia
I would create two different semi-finished products and a finished product that consumes both. For the semi-finished product that is produced in the alternative plant, you can use the special procurement stock transfer.
This way, when you run MRP for the finished product, it would generate a planned order to produce one semi-finished product in plant A, a stock transfer to bring the other one from plant B and another planned order in plant B to produce this material.
You would produce both semi finished products, transfer the one manufactured in the alternative plant to the final assembly plant and the produce the finished product.

Caetano

You can use scope of planning for total planning in MRP. Scope of planning will group Plant A and Plant B under single umbrella. The scope of planning key Say, PE01. Now for both plant you can create a Group Routing without any reference to plant and give a common work centre. You can think of creating production version and assign this to Routing. Run MRP with scope of planning key, planning elements will be created for different plant. Demand needs to be uploaded by md61.
