creation of data type

hi all.

sorry i just want some information in creation of data type which i svery ease to solve.

and it is i had seen one data type which was creatd by my colleague and its haveing occurance 1..unbounded for some and 1..10 for remaining elements and the other thing is in details she has given MAXLENGHT.

i just want to know y she has given these things under data type.

    These are probably the requirements of the file that this DT (Data Type) pertains to. You might need a text file sent to an ftp server, and that server will only look at the first 10 or so records in that message, so then you will set the max length to 10.

    Or you could have a sender that will send 100 records exactly no matter what, then you would set the min and max to 100, making it so the document would produce a null if one wasn't filled so the receiver that is expecting 100 records wouldn't have an error because there wasn't enough records in the file to fill conditions.

    it means that those are strucutres that can carry more than 1 data if the def is 0..unb , 1..unb or 1..10

    Hi,

    All data types are described by XML Schema. All required information about XML Schemas you will get from:

    http://www.w3.org/XML/Schema>

    You can create data types either directly in IR using data type editor or import from external definitions.

    Occurence, maxlength are properties of tags, attributes etc. and are defined by XML Schema.
