Material master - Configurable material

Hi all

I have a configurable material. (The "Material is configurable" indicator in basic data 2 is set and the material type is ROH). I want to uncheck this flag and make it a standard material. But on doing so, the system is giving an error saying "Not possible to cancel the Material is configurable indicator). The cross-plant CM field is also grayed out. Please advise me on how to remove this flag.

Hi Mui,

Usually you can not change the Material Master Status (from Configurable Material to Non Configurable Material) once you set Material is Configurable for any Material (this setting is done in Basic data view of Material Master. Yes, exactly the filed becomes supressed.

Hi all,

Thanks to u all for the valueble inputs. But I am not able to reset the configurable material indicator using any of ur suggestions since this material uses itself as the configurable material. I am not able to change the cross-plant CM since it is in display mode. The field selection group for the same is given as optional entry.

Kindly let me know if there are any other options i can try.

1. Did u do any tranascation against this material -if you have did any transaction for this material which has configurable indicator then i think it is hard to remove them.

Still we will see if it can be reversed.

Hi,

While creating the material, you might have selected the material type as KMAT - Configurable material. so now you have to change the material type from KMAT to ROH using transaction code MMAM.

But there are some prerequisites before changing the material type, so better try to make using MMAM transaction and the system will display the possible errors. Try attending each errors as suggested and finally you will be able to do the requirement.
