Dear,
We're now on the process of IDM upgrade from 7.2 to 8.0. We need to import the identity information (such as users, privileges, business roles, dynamic groups) from 7.2 system to 8.0 system. We go on with the upgrade guide link below, but actually we can't understand well. Please show us more detail guide if you have.
Thank you and best regards,
AK
What part of the guide you can't understand? I haven't done the actual migration but you need to take account few things:
1. Are you migrating on the same server or you are creating a new box (freshly installed) 8.0 and migrate the data?
2. How many identity data are you going to migrate.
The safest way in my opinion and to avoid any business disruption is create a new box and migrate the data in the new box. This should eliminate the risk of bricking the upgrade and the business being caught off handed with no IDM system to use. (even with back-up the time to restore might missed some few other important business processing of identities)

Dear Santi
Thanks for your reply.
As described in the guide below(procedure->2->b),
"Enter the definition of the pass on the Destination tab. Enter the attributes holding information about the business roles, such as the MSKEYVALUE, the entry reference attributes (starting with MXMEMBER and MXREF) and the attributes' value."
Could you explain it more detail? Or share me some information about it?
Best Regards
It seems that you are following the second approach for the upgrade from SAP IDM 7.2 to SAP IDM 8.0.
In this approach, every configuration and IDM data need to be imported into the new system manually. The shared procedure (2->b) says that to Import the business role from SAP IDM 7.2 to SAP IDM 8.0, first you need to export all business roles from 7.2 to a CSV file. This export can be done using a To ASCII pass. I believe you must be aware of the source and destination tab of the IDM Pass.
"Enter the definition of the pass on the Destination tab. Enter the attributes holding information about the business roles, such as the MSKEYVALUE, the entry reference attributes (starting with MXMEMBER and MXREF) and the attributes' value."
This is actually guideline regarding, how to fill the destination tab of To ASCII pass because we have to import the Business Role data (MSKEYVALUE, DISPLAYNAME etc.) along with its parent and child members (which are defined under MXREF_* and MXMEMBER_* attribute).
Hope it will help.

Hello,
Source tab basically needs Identity store name and SQL query while Destination tab requires Entry Type and Attribute Name.
These are very basic of SAP IDM. If you are unaware of basics of IDM product then I would recommend to go for SAP IDM Training otherwise you may face bigger issue in the future.

C Kumar
Looks like that upgrade is doomed. oO
If you don't have the training and noone around with the proper knowledge, I don't think you can pull off an upgrade from 7.2 to 8.0.
I'm an IDM admin for 5 years now and still I would get my IDM consultant on board for support, when we finally upgrade, just to be sure I don't miss anything.

Hi
As you have stated you are using approach 2 - installing new IDM 8.0 system and importing the data.
Export the identity store schema ( entry type and attributes) later Instead of transporting the users, role, privileges, dynamic groups etc.,I would suggest to use the data load job transfers, where transporting data from one database to another data base. these are provided by SAP i believe.

DP.
