Setting up a capacity check for open storage

I have my putaway strategy set up as C for open storage, mixed storage without limitations and addition to stock not permitted. I'm trying to figure out what kind of capacity check I can check up with this config and what master data that would require to use the capacity check.

The system isn't a single bin. This company wants to try to keep the tracking of the GR date by material without implementing storage unit mgmt.

Confused by this. The whole point of open storage is that it's a single bin, with mixed storage and addition to stock being permitted but most importantly, NO CAPACITY CHECK else it wouldn't be open storage.
