BFC 10.0: Multi period Consolidation fails with Unspecified Error

Hi Experts,

We are facing an issue with a consolidation which is failing.

The error message is

"The following error has occurred: Unspecified error"

"Processing failed"

Checking the logs this error message is occurring after the first period in the category. We are using a multi period category scenario. We have verified all the settings in the Properties, Open Balances & Period tabs in the consolidation definition but everything seems to be fine. We also tried deleting the consolidation definition & creating a new one, changing rule sets etc but the same issue continues to occur.

Any pointers on what might be causing this & how to troubleshoot this since the error message is not helpful at all.

    This will be hard to resolve on a forum such as SDN

    You can verify this note, but I doubt this is the issue:

    I would recommend opening an incident on SMP so we can gather logs etc.

    • Thanks Marc, turns out it was an issue with the AC dimension. Having checked the Category Scenario Chart of Accounts I noticed some newly introduced accounts were showing up as ???? since I hadn't moved the ref table members to that environment. After moving the same, the consolidation also executed successfully. The consolidation error message in the log gives absolutely no clue though as to where the issue might be.
