Hi,

There are two books. Asset Accounting and Financial Accounting. Asset depreciation are posted first in Asset Accounting, hence the number interval in AA remains internal, whereas when it posts the same in FI, to have consistency we keep the same document number and hence we specify the document number as external which is passed on by Asset Accounting. This is SAP standard.

Hope this helps, if yes, please assign points.

Regards,

Harish

Hi,

For 4.7 you should be using the programm RAPOST2000 for depreciation.

For this programm the number range should be set to internal.

The Previous programm RABUCH00 required external for the reasons i posted above.

Kind regards

Hi,

You have a SAP version pre 4.7.

Your depreciation is posted via a batch file, to ensure consistency the document number is assigned by the AA Module. So that this assigned number is used when you process the batch file the number range has to be set to external.

Kind regards

Number range information comes from a area in Asset Mgt and not through manual input.

This is standard SAP.

Once you are in ecc5 this will be changed to internal.
