Hallo freinds,
I have the mini SAP / ABAP Workbench 4.6 installed on my notebook. The CDs for installation came along with the ABAP Oject book (Horst Keller / Sacha Krüger) that I bought sometimes ago.
Question:
I would like to install the new ABAP editor (If there is such as mini SAP). Does somebody know if the book from Rich Heimann / Thomas Jung "ABAP Next Generation" has such a CD included. Or could someone let me know if there is such a mini SAP / New ABAP Editor for private use and how to get it.

Hi Blacky. to answer your question, no, the NetWeaver Sneak Preview does not come included on the CD with the book(NGA Development). The CD includes all of the code samples in text format as well as saplink format. As Chris mentioned, you can download and install the sneak preview NetWeaver ABAP system from the download section here on SDN. The examples in the book were built on a NetWeaver 7.0 SP10 system. The latest download on SDN is SP12, so you should be in good shape when working with the examples. Your 4.6 engine that you got with Mr Keller's book some time ago, is quite outdated and would not be good to use to learn the NEW advance techniques in ABAP, but would of course teach you the basics of the ABAP language and its core concepts.

Blacky,
If you have OSS Access, refer to OSS note number 891549.
There are some requirements based on which ABAP release you are on as well as which SAPGui you are using.
The other option would be to check out the downloads section of SDN and download
<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads">SAP Netweaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version</a>

Hi Richy,
Once again thanks for your tip. I have installed the SAP NetWeaver on my notebook, but I still have some questions.
1)
While trying to create a program (SE80 or SE38), I was asked to input access key. How do I get this.
2)
I guess after the installment, the license key would be authomatically installed. After klicken on the slicense button->oldlicense, the table INSTALLED LICENSE IN THE DATABASE (Validity: 05.09.2007). Then I press Install. Popup (Install old license) came up. Then I entered the key(24 digits) shown on the table INSTALLED LICENSE IN THE DATABASE (Validity: 05.09.2007). I am getting Runtime error. Runtime takes too long.
Do I have to request for a new license?
Blacky.
