SLD management in SAP PI

Hi SDNites,

I have created SLD components in my Dev system where TS / BS has Dev / QA / PRD 3 entries. Also transport groups have been set up as Dev -> QA and QA ->PRD.

As per my understanding the only way to transport it to QA and PRD is to move all the TS / BS i.e. Dev / QA / PRD to further environments (I will see these 3 entries in all the system i.e. in PRD system also I can see Dev / QA / PRD in TS / BS). Can you please advise is this the only approach or we can have any other way via which SLD can be handled.

Regards,

Abhi

    Hi Abhi,

Yes this is the only approach when you have local SLD of each system (Dev/QA/PRD). To avoid this issue (duplication of information between system), you need to have central SLD architecture. Which of course has its own advantage of maintaining system at once but have dependency on one SLD for all systems.

    Hi Abhi,

This is the usual approach that is followed..

If the central SLD is maintained there are chances of PO going down when the central SLD fails.

so the approach of Local SLD is followed even though you will find all the DEV,QA,PRD.
