where is the iview?

I added an iView as a delta link to a page. When I open the page in the Portal Content Studio and look at the ID property of the iview added, it shows me an ID in the form of:: <pcd path of the page>/<pcd path of the original iView>

but there is no physical iView at this location!! .can someone explain how come an iview with a clearly defined PCD path cannot be found at that PCD path.

That's because it's a delta link.

The delta link concatenates both paths, it is meant for the page reference and does not represent the iView's true physical location.

now here is the real question I have... I am making a copy of the SAP-delivered pages from the ESS business package ( I do this because I don't want to touch the original SAP iViews)...Through IMG I tell the backend (ECC6) where my new ESS iViews are located. Initially I wanted to pass the concatenated path of the delta-link, but if there are no iViews physically located at that path, what do I do?

I assume you are making a delta link from the copied iView.

Therefore, Pass the real pcd location of the copied iView instead of it's delta link one. Or am I missing something here...?
