Export 65000+ lines to excel 2007 ?

Some of our users need to export over 65.000 lines into excel; this is over the limites of excel-2003, but excel 2007 goes up to 1 mio lines. However, if we try to export data into excel 2007, this export is limited to 65k lines (the same limit as xls 2003).

We are running BI7.0 SP12.

Q: does anybody have an idea what could cause this limit?

Q: has anybody had a similar problem (and solved it)?

Last time I checked teh Product matrix for BEx, Excel 2007 is only supported at BI 7.0 SP12.

I think SAP was looking at whether they could support Excel 2007 from BW 3.5, but if they have/will do that, I'm sure you would have to have the most recent Front End patch.

We are running BI 7.0 SP12 since a few weeks (<i>should have mentioned it</i>) ; we will also do some tests if exporting out of web-reporting makes a difference.

Make sure you have the latest Front End Patch too. If it works, my guess is that you might run into memory related issues any time you have a workbook with many cells.

Are you able to generate reports with more than 65000 records on BI7.0 SP 12?
