Can't we use Delta Init to load historical data??

Hi BW Experts,

Cant we use Delta Init to load historical data and proceed with the deltas there after?? What is the maximum period of historical/normal data that we could load using Delta Init??

My confusion is When and where we exactly use Full upload to load historical data as we cannot do the Dalta init (though we have an option to convert our full uploads into repair full requests to proceed on with the delta inits).

If the option Full Upload is used only to load Historical data if we dont need any delta inits and deltas further ( or to load only the archived historical data?? from source??)

Short answer is yes, as to the limits, depends on how many bytes each record that is passed takes up. I find it quicker to trial and error based on experience than perform the calcs which generally take no account of any other system overhead. As you have intimated if your init is too large to run then you can load chunks of data as repair full request's before finally triggering your delta init. I would only use full upload where absolutely no way around ie no way to delta or fudge using repair requests etc.

Hello Sapster,

the delta is definitly used for actual and changing data. If your historical data is static so your delta queue will not be contain any data so you can not get any delta records.

So for historical data delta mechanism is not applicable.
