Dear Sap Gurus

While practcing SAP in home, I create company code For example like this Z111 or Z222, and in the same manner distribution channel and Div also,

But in real tme senario How you give a names to these terms, and also do you copy form 1000 or you self defined it.

In real time the names of the company codes, distribution channels etc are numeric in nature as in future if this company is bought over by some other company we don't want old names to appear. But again we do it taking the clients requirements into consideration.

It is recommended by SAP to copy the standard and create anything new starting with alphabet Z, if there is requirement, as copying and creating will ensure that background tables etc. gets copied.

But for divisions, distribution channel you can straight create it without copying.
