Why aren't the latest threads showing up on the top? This was so convenient, now I don't know where the latest one showing within a forum.
Also, earlier I was able to watch threads/forums without actually getting email updates about the same. Now if I put watch, I am getting tonnes of emails in my inbox. I liked the old feature where I can mark something for watching and find it by just going to my watches once I login to the website.

Hi,
recently we enabled a special caching mechanism, that made messages appear after a short amount of time after they got posted. I think this is responsible for this behaviour.
I have disabled this again, so please let me know if the problem is also gone.
Regarding the watches: You can define for every watch if you get emails or not. See here: .

Thank you Michael, it is working now. Curious to know why you introduced this caching mechanism to delay the posting of a message. Is this to enable the moderators to read it first before posting? But the time lag is too short for such scrutiny.
Thanks for the email settings, yes I found it. I wish the default setting is no email for each thread I post or answer.
Hi Srinivas,
The delay is for reducing the work load on db.
This is what the moderator has to say about this feature..
the delay is indeed a feature and part of our effort to reduce database load in order to further stabilize the forums. It is the so-called "Short-term query cache", it prevents cache expirations of the query cache from happening more than once every 5 or 10 seconds.
Another part is by the way that you are no longer able to choose the way threads are displayed (tree or threaded), only "flat" mode is possible.
However, I could not reproduce the "bug" where you points total is shown as 0. Is this still the case? Perhaps there was a short outage of the points system...

Michael

I tried putting "ABAP" in the search area and then selecting yesterday and sorted by date. It doesn't catch everything, but I doubt if the world will come to an end because of it.

I sort of sorted out the sort by using the open questions filter..
& yes 'watching' became a pain too...
