ESS- employee should not be able to change their name in ESS

Hi

Currently in ESS--> personal data ,PZ13,Employees can change their name, how can i restrict this? employees should not be able to change their name in ESS.

If you are still using ITS based ESS, you can modify the HTML templates in the backend via SE80.. ie make the fields display only.. just be sure to publish the entire service upone migration to QA/PROD too..

What if you are not using the ITS based ESS and are implementing the newest version?

Then, you can go to specific iview in portal content - Preview- and change the fields chareristics to 'Display' only (given that you have the portal content admin) .

If I go to that specific iView through the portal, right click, Preview, I just get a preview of the iview, no ability to change it at all.

You need to be in 'Portal Content' to change. When in 'Preview', just right click on the field(s) you want to change characteristic.

Thanks so much for your help and quick responses. I really appreciate it.

If I go into Content Administration - Portal Content - PCD....Employee Self-Service - iViews - Personal Information - United States - Personal Data - then right click on the 'Personal Data' iview and select Preview it simply opens a new window, renders the iview. I then click to edit my personal information. When the fields come up, any time I right-click on one, I get the standard internet explorer context menu. No SAP options are there no matter where I click (on the label, on the field...)

Sorry, you need to do CNTRL- right click on the field you want to change . A 'Personalize Input ' window will pop up for you to make necessary change.
